ExpertPays has connections with fantastic doctors all over the country. Today we want to introduce you to Dr. Shar Hashemi, a U.S. board-certified, dual fellowship-trained specialist in orthopedic hand and whole-body peripheral nerve surgery—one of only twenty in the country. These two fellowships form the intersection of orthopedic, neurological and reconstructive surgery.
As we all know, car accidents can result in injuries to nerves, muscles, tendons and discs. Dr. Hashemi’s training, education and experience allow him to provide unique evaluations and treatments for these injuries.
In private practice for 13 years, he is licensed in Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, and Florida and has treated patients from 37 U.S. states and 8 countries. Dr. Hashemi is highly experienced in acute traumatic hand, wrist, and whole-body nerve injuries, as well as elective nerve evaluations. He has published and presented nationally and internationally at major conferences, including AAOS, ASPN, the EDS World Meeting in Philadelphia, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. His recent publications include a chapter on brachial plexus lesions in The Symptomatic Book and a submitted nerve article in Frontiers of Neurology, co-authored with a Mayo Clinic physician on nerve compression in EDS patients.
Committed to advancing nerve care, Dr. Hashemi is developing a research arm in collaboration with a nationally renowned neuromuscular research team to improve nerve diagnostics and treatment.
